@(insert name here) on Twitter?

Posted by: admin In: Twitter Info

I don’t understand the @ feature on Twitter. I’ve tried to send people messages but i don’t think that i’m doing it right cause i don’t get any responses back. Here are my questions.

1) Does the other person have to be following you to get your updates or to post an update bout you?

2) Can you send direct messages to people who don’t follow you?

3) How, exactly, do you compose an update to another person?

any other tips would be helpful!!

1) The other person has to be following you to see your updates, but if you write it “@” them, they’ll automatically see it.

2) No, they have to be following you to send direct messages, but you can reply to them even if they’re not following you.

3) okay. so, say “glorianatheband” says: “We sign every night after Kellie Pickler and before Taylor. Come say hi to us!” you can hit the reply button so in your update box it now says, “@glorianatheband” and you want to say hi. so you would write in your box, “@glorianatheband hi!” and click update. haha, for example. and they’ll see it on their homepage and they can reply back if they want. :)

hope i helped!
